Wether for breakfast à deux or a banquet for 100.......
Antique dinnerware makes a memorably and gorgeous table🥂
This is a very unique and hard to find antique English Francis Morley 'Casket Japan' tea and cake service, circa 1850. All printed in underglaze blue and painted over in colors and gilt. All printed with the cartridge name 'Casket Japan or numbered 13379 on the base and also various markings.
Although the set bears no maker's mark, the 'Casket Japan' pattern is credited to Francis Morley. Morley bought Mason's pattern catalog in 1848 and the pattern is very reminiscent of Mason's Japan Basket. Morley operated from 1845 to 1858, after which he was partnered with Ashworth.
I have:
2x Serving dish 25x3.5cm
12x cake plates ø17.5 cm
12x Cups ø9x5 cm
12x Saucers ø14cm
Condition report: very good, 3 flee bites on saucers
